Not only is Cast Iron Skillet Pizza easy, it tastes so good! Now, on this blog you have already heard me wax poetic about my love for the cast iron skillet. I have two, I use them every day and you can cook anything in them, even a pizza.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Oil and butter the skillet and place the dough in it. Press the dough to flatten it out to the edges.
Turn the heat on medium and ‘cook’ the bottom of the dough until a thin crust begins to form, about 5 minutes.
Flip the dough so that the bottom is now the top. Turn off the heat and spread the tomato sauce. Sprinkle with cheese and toppings, if adding.
Place on the bottom rack on the oven for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, open the oven and carefully move the skillet to the top rack. Cook for an additional ten minutes.
Buon Appetito!
